Donations to The BIG FIX are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law in the United States.
What Your Donation Can Accomplish:
$3 vaccinates and deworms one community dog
$10 pays for fuel for us to respond to one rescue call
$20 covers the cost of annual cocktail vaccination for one Comfort Dog
$35 pays for the spay of a community dog at our hospital
$50 pays for the cost of treating a dog with chemotherapy
$100 allows us to print 100 copies of The Great Dog Guardian Book
$300 sponsors a graduate Comfort Dog Project team for one year
$500 allows us to rehabilitate a rescue dog, place them with a war trauma survivor, and cover the cost of the first year of training in our Comfort Dog Project
Any amount donated monthly will be put to good use by The BIG FIX to help animals and people. Join our team of monthly donors and receive an invitation to our annual Google Meet with Comfort Dog Project guardians and their dogs.

Making a gift through your will or trust allows you to donate money or an asset such as real estate or stock. This is flexible way to have a lasting impact on the work of The BIG FIX Uganda. You can also designate that your gift should be used for a particular purpose such as our Comfort Dog Project or dog hospital.
We recommend that you consult with your legal and financial advisors to ensure that your wishes are carried out in the drafting of your will or trust.
For your convenience, we’ve provided some suggested language below that you could use in your will or trust. Please feel free to adapt this language with your attorney to fit your individual situation.
Suggested language: “I give to The BIG FIX, a California Public Benefit Corporation with its principal office at 830 Taylor Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368, (the sum of $_____) (all or _____% of my residual estate) to be used for its general purposes.”
The BIG FIX is a charitable organization located exempt from federal taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in the United States since 2002. Our tax identification number is 30-0019352. The BIG FIX Uganda is a project of The BIG FIX.

Our supporters have done many creative things to help raise money for The BIG FIX Uganda and The Comfort Dog Project. One donor held a dinner party and asked guests to donate.
Other creative ideas:
hold a garage sale with the proceeds going to BIG FIX and include a donation jar at your sale.
make a power point presentation in your community about the work of The BIG FIX Uganda and ask attendees for donations.
hold a movie night or bake sale to benefit The BIG FIX
promote sale of merchandise in The BIG FIX Store

We are always in need of supplies that can't be purchased in Uganda. It can be a fun project to hold a drive for dog collars or other items. One of our board members is a teacher and her school holds a drive each year to collect new dog collars which volunteers then carry to The BIG FIX Uganda.
Is there someplace you can put a donation box to collect supplies?
Do you have a community page where you can ask others if they have supplies to donate?
The most critically needed supplies: new or lightly used dog collars and leashes, Elizabethan collars (cone heads), new dog or cat grooming tools.

Volunteer in Uganda
For your next vacation, why not experience the incredible work that we do in Northern Uganda? If you have any experience with animals, that's great, but no special skills are required to make a meaningful contribution during a volunteer vacation with The BIG FIX Uganda. We also host veterinary student externships.
When you volunteer with us, you will stay on our 4-acre compound in The BIG FIX Uganda Guesthouse and have a private room and washroom. The guesthouse is located just steps away from our hospital in a picturesque Village.
$600/week per person includes lodging at The BIG FIX guesthouse, along with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please note we require a minimum stay of one week.

Volunteer remotely
Except for our paid staff in Uganda, The BIG FIX Uganda operates entirely by volunteer labor.
If you are interested in donating your time and talent to help, we are presently actively seeking volunteers and potential board members with expertise in the following areas:
Accounting; Fundraising; Grant Writing; Marketing and Promotion; Project Management; Social Media; Social Work and Trauma Counseling; Veterinary Medicine; Veterinary Practice Management; Website Management.

Join the 2025 World Animal Day Volunteer Team
Celebrate World Rabies Day and World Animal Day with The BIG FIX Uganda Team! This 11-day trip is a unique opportunity to be part of our massive rabies vaccination campaign on September 28th and to be part of The Great Dog Games on October 4th. Space on this team is limited to 4 volunteers. Cost for 2025: TBA and includes airport pick up and transfers, stay at a guesthouse in Entebbe upon arrival, roundtrip private transport to/from Gulu, full-board lodging at The BIG FIX Uganda Guesthouse, and participation in all activities.
